Ten years of partnership: BFE and Japan’s DIGIcas
Since 2016, BFE and DIGIcas have been delivering broadcast projects with KSC in Japan together.
In September 2026, BFE Studio und Medien Systeme GmbH and DIGIcas LLC celebrated a special anniversary: ten years of successful collaboration and a wide range of demanding broadcast projects in Japan. For BFE, this also marked a further step in the international market.
The foundation was laid in September 2016. It began with a project at Television Hokkaido Broadcasting (TVh), where the KSC control solution developed by BFE was put into operation. Over the years, this first step grew into a long-term partnership built on trust. It has contributed to the digitalisation and modernisation of several media organisations in Japan.
From a first contract to a close-knit team
The first joint project was technically demanding, and integration and project management also posed considerable challenges. Because the BFE and DIGIcas teams worked closely together, they were able to integrate the control solution into the existing production environment. This laid the groundwork for further contracts with customers in Japan.
The result convinced TVh and showed how well the two companies complement each other. Over the following years, numerous further projects were completed. German software development and technical expertise met DIGIcas’ knowledge of the Japanese market and its systems. This combination produced solutions for broadcast and media companies that are in daily operation today.
What sets this collaboration apart is the close relationship between the people on both sides. Across cultural and geographical boundaries, they share the same values: quality, reliability, openness to new technology and a clear focus on customer requirements. They work as equals and trust one another.
Through a continuous exchange of expertise and experience, both companies have learned from each other and steadily developed their offering. This is one reason why KSC Core and KSC SinAlarm, the products of KSC Systems, are in use in many broadcast environments today.
Looking ahead
The tenth anniversary is an occasion to look back on shared achievements. It is also a starting point for the next stage. The media industry continues to change, driven above all by automation and new forms of production.
BFE and DIGIcas aim to shape this change together and to keep providing their customers with the right solutions. Ten years of experience offer a solid basis for this, both for further projects and for technical developments.
